Vodafone Idea confirmed that Chief Executive (CEO) Balesh Sharma stepped down from the role, citing personal reasons for the decision.

 

Ravinder Takkar, Board Member of VfI and Indus Towers, and responsible for all Group interests in India, replaces Sharma at the helm.

 

Sharma had been leading the integration process following the merger of Vodafone India and Idea Cellular, with Takkar having overseen the merger since its initial discussions and led negotiations on the Group’s behalf.

 

Sharma indicated that he will take on a new, as-yet-unannounced role at Group level after taking a seven-week Advanced Management course at Harvard Business School, starting in September2019.
