EE switched on 4G connectivity for customers travelling on part of the JubileeLine on the London Underground. The project covers platforms and tunnels between Westminster and Canning Town (i.e. most of the line’s southern half), and sees services made available to all EE, BT Mobile, PlusNet Mobile, and business customers, as well as users of EE’s mobile virtual network operator partners. The move forms part of Transport for London’s (TfL) 4G trial — which EE joined in December 2019, alongside competitors Telefónica UK and Vodafone UK (BTwatch, #309). TfL is looking at extending the pilot to cover the entire JubileeLine by the end of 2020.
