Telefónica UK (O2 UK) is to join peers EE and Vodafone UK in trials of 4G on the London Underground being undertaken by Transport for London (TfL). A portion of the JubileeLine will be used to test 4G signals in partnership with the three operators, with the aim of extending connectivity throughout the entire Underground network within the next five years. Shashi Verma, TfL’s Chief Technology Officer, said the project is on track to see customers using 4G signals “from March2020” in selected tunnels.
