Deutsche Telekom (DT) collaborated with Red Bull-founded fashion house AlphaTauri and textile manufacturer Schoeller to release a temperature-controlled jacket. The item, priced from €699.90, forms part of a new product group called the Heatable Capsule Collection, underpinned by DT Internet of Things technology and heating components and fabrics from Schoeller, and designed by AlphaTauri. Users are able to decide the jacket’s level of warmth via a DT‑provided app. DT said the jacket is being further developed with additional features, where “connectivity and AI [artificial intelligence] will become increasingly relevant”. It is the first project to reach market‑readiness from DT’s Fashion Fusion Programme, which aims to produce innovative fashion technologies alongside entrepreneurs and startups. The programme was originally a startup competition hosted by DT, and backed by Adidas, Intel, and DT’s Berlin innovation centre hubraum.
