Deutsche Telekom IoT (DT IoT) partnered with asset management and logistics scale‑up Sensolus to co‑develop a solution for the industrial, logistics, and transport industries in Germany.

Belgian solution provider Sensolus — which claims to have more than 175,000 trackers in operation — will provide its cloud‑based asset management platform and tracking hardware. DT, for its part, will contribute its Narrowband IoT network to enable highly specified connected asset management, according to the partners.

Ostensibly, what makes Sensolus’s asset management platform unique is its ability to not only locate and display networked assets, but also deliver “comprehensive functionality through AI [artificial intelligence]supported analysis and evaluation of tracker data. This, according to the scale‑up, ranges from inventory management and utilisation, to status and workflow monitoring. As a result, fleet managers gain “valuable insights that help them optimise their processes and save costs”, said Sensolus.

Meanwhile, the company claims that the batteries powering its wireless trackers could last for “atleast” five years when supported by the “energysaving manner” of NarrowbandIoT.
