Group
- Jonathan Abrahamson, Deutsche Telekom’s Head of Product Management for Digital, Europe and Germany, will take on an expanded role to cover the responsibilities of outgoing Omar Tazi. He will combine both positions while also gaining Tazi’s seat on the Technology & Innovation Executive Board, reporting into divisional head Claudia Nemat.
- Ahmed Hafez was appointed Vice-President for Technology Strategy & Special Projects. He moves across from a role as VP for Network Convergence. Hafez formerly worked at Vodafone, where he held a series of senior positions between 2001 and 2018.
- Istvan Iski became VP for B2B-SME Growth in Europe after a three-year stint with Magyar Telekom. He was most recently Soho SMB Experience Tribe Lead, and has also held managerial roles at Magyar Telekom.
- Ann-Katrin Reuter was named VP for Customer Experience. She moves across from Telekom Deutschland where she was Agile Transformation Director.
- Germany-based IoT spinout 1NCE, set up to market standardised pricing for cross‑border IoT projects, appointed two former Vodafone execs to its leadership team: Nicolás Martinez‑Fresno as Senior VP for Business Development & Sales, Europe; and Hitoshi Ono as SVP for Japan and Asia‑Pacific.
Martinez‑Fresno — a senior exec at Vodafone Global Enterprise between 2014 and 2021, and Telefónica before that — will “lead and scale” 1NCE’s European sales and sales support teams, while driving “strong customer and partner engagement”, 1NCE said. Ono — who worked for VGE between 2011 and 2013 — will be responsible for a strategic tie‑up with SoftBank, which was announced in June and involves a plan to grow uptake of 1NCE’s services across 19 APAC territories (Deutsche Telekomwatch, #115).
- Philipp Mayer was appointed Head of Technology Business Excellence at DT. He was previously a Business Owner for Business Operations at Technology Delivery International.
- Henning Moeller was named Head of Product Management Partnering & Value-Added Services after a short stint in the telco’s Silicon Valley division where he focused on Partnering & Scouting.
- Dr. Jörg Richartz was appointed VP for End-to-end Customer Management at Magenta TV. He moves from his role as Vice President for Business Development & Strategy which he held for almost five years.
- Deutsche Telekom Technology & Innovation executive Omar Tazi is to transfer over to lead product development and innovation at T-Mobile US.
Tazi, currently Head of Product Innovation & Customer Experience at DT, will take on an Executive Vice-President and Chief Product Officer role at its American NatCo on 2 January, according to an SEC filing by T-Mobile. The move will see him step down from his position on T-Mobile’s Board of Directors, where he has represented DT since November 2020. DT has yet to confirm what it plans to do regarding Tazi’s chairmanship of tech innovation and incubation arm hubraum.
- Martin Schnell was promoted to Head of Coax Product Management & Fibre Hybrid. He was most recently Commercial Product Manager for Fibre.
- Dr. Philip Stockmann was named VP for First Brand Mobile & Convergence. He was previously VP for Mobile Commercial Management. Stockman joined DT from Telefónica Deutschland in 2017. He was also a Mountain Infantry Officer in the German Armed Forces.
- Henri Vandré was appointed Cluster Lead for Home Experience. Most recently, Vandré was VP for Innovation & Partnering. His career with DT has included stints with (formerly-OTE-controlled) Telekom Albania as both Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Commercial Officer.
Germany
- Carsten Akman was named Head of Customer Development. He was previously Head of Convergence Customer Management.
- Sandra Ebert was appointed Head of Process and Portfolio Transformation. She moves across from her role as Head of Sales Operation Office.
- Meike Geiselhart is now Head of Customer Insights after a three-year stint as Head of CompetenceCenter Market.
- Conrad Inderst was named Head of Security Operations Centre at Telekom Security. He switches from the position of Project Manager for Cyber Defense & Cyber Security Engineer.
- Lars Jensen was appointed Head of Digital Sales for Broadband & TV. He was previously Team Lead for Fixed Networks.
- Lars Kindervater was named Head of Fibre Sales Service Reach at Telekom Deutschland. He takes on the new role after three-and-a-half years as Head of Fibre New Development Areas Project.
- As York Lohse approaches two decades with DT, he moves to become Head of Customer Loyalty & Programs. He was most recently Head of Convergence for MagentaEINS.
- Dirk Lukaschik was appointed SVP for T-Global Business & Solution Sales and Engineering. He switches from the role of VP for Sales Wholesale & VP for International B2B. Lukaschik has been with DT for more than 13 years — previously, he worked at Hewlett-Packard where he was an Industry Director.
- Björn Petersen is now Head of Transformation for Key Service Accounts. He moves from T-Systems where he spent 21 years, most recently as VP for Global Sales Excellence and Performance Management.
- Matthias Schmiedel was appointed Head of Digital Sales for Mobile Communications and Convergence. He was formerly a Squad Lead for Digital Transformation.
- Hannes Sommer was named Head of Product Management & Fibre Business Development. He was most recently Senior National Key Account Manager.
- Björn Steinberger was appointed Head of IoT Sales for Medium- and Large-Enterprises. He was previously Chapter Lead for Regional IoT Sales for Medium- and Large-Enterprises.
- Thomas Tschersich replaced Thomas Fetten as Chief Executive at Telekom Security, Deutsche Telekom’s commercial security services arm.
Fetten has been CEO of the unit since early-2020, overseeing its separation from T-Systems and reformation as an independent entity, formally called Deutsche Telekom Security GmbH, in July of that year. Tschersich, who has been at Deutsche Telekom for more than two decades, has been in a joint, internal- and external-focused role, leading DT’s in-house security (latterly as Chief Security Officer) and acting as Chief Technology Officer of Telekom Security since 2017. He will retain the former title.
- Hendrik Weidemann was named Head of IT Infrastructure at IT Competence Centre, moving from the position of Head of IT. Weidemann has been with DT since 2009, starting in Sales with T-Systems.
Europe
- Austria: Renate Burke was appointed Head of B2B Indirect Sales & Tele Account Management at Magenta Telekom. She joins after a five-year stint at Samsung where she was Head of Sales, Consumer Electronics Buying Groups & Distributors.
- Greece: Triantafyllos Tsouplakis was named Head of ICT Cloud Solutions at OTE. He has been promoted from the position of Senior Solutions Manager.
- Macedonia: Emilija Andonovska was appointed Sales & Technical Services Director at Makedonski Telekom. She was previously Director of Consumer Sales and has been with the NatCo for 20 years.
- Poland: Agnieszka Cypryk becomes Director of Corporate Strategy and Project Portfolio Management at T-Mobile Poland. She steps up from Head of Corporate Strategy.
Systems Solutions
- Andrea García Beltrán left Global Commerce Media to join T-Systems as Chief Tomorrow Officer. T-Systems describes chief tomorrow officers as a “new generation of leaders who are positive, forward-thinking, and exert influence across divisions in the company”.
- Sindy Höhne was appointed Head of eCommerce Consulting after spending a year as Team Leader for Digital Commerce Sales.
- Monique Janzen was named Director of Digital Solutions and Country Board Member at T-Systems Netherlands. She joins from Microsoft where she was Business Lead for Local Government.
- Marc Palmer was appointed CTO at T-Systems for the Oil, Gas and Energy industry group. Palmer joins from Low Carbon Contracts Company where he was Senior Head of Technology.
- Christian Severin was named Tribe Lead for Agile Transformation and Future Work at T-Systems. He moves from his role as Inhouse Communications Service Provider Consultant at DT. In a post on LinkedIn, Severin said it “feels great to get back to the company I started my Deutsche Telekom journey in 15 years ago”.
- Axel Voss was appointed VP for Strategic Deal Executive Complex Deal Management. He departs Cognizant where he was Pursuit Lead & Strategic Engagement Executive for Complex and Strategic Deals. This is Voss’s second stint at T-Systems — he previously held a managerial role in complex deal management between 2010 and 2016.
- Karel van Zyl was named Head of Quality Consulting at T-Systems International. He previously spent almost seven years with T-Systems Netherlands, most recently as Head of Business Excellence.
USA
- Jen Anderson was appointed Head of Customer IQ at T-Mobile, promoted from the position of Senior Manager for Brand Digital Marketing.
- Jocelyn Jacobson was named Director of CEO Communications, moving across from her role as Director of Executive Thought Leadership. Jacobson held a host of communications-based positions at Sprint prior to its merger with T-Mobile.
- Keith Noel Mercado was appointed Director of Implementation & Customer Success. He was previously Director of Sales & Operations at T-Mobile.
- Ram Sadasivam was promoted to become Senior Director of Technology for Supply Chain & Corporate Finance. He moves from being Director of Enterprise Technology Solutions.
