Deutsche Telekom (DT) launched the Neebo Baby Sensor Wristband, an Internet of Things‑enabled smart bracelet for babies and toddlers. The networked bracelet monitors metrics including heart rate, sleep duration, and temperature in real‑time, and transmits information for parents to a smartphone app via Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi, and a DT‑supplied embedded SIM (eSIM), with a battery life of up to five days. LTE connectivity for the device is provided by Sequans Communications’ Monarch SiP solution. The Neebo app is currently being offered to DT customers with iOS devices, with an Android version said to be in preparation. The Neebo device is manufactured by Daatrics, a UK‑based baby monitoring technology solutions provider, which has a relationship with DT’s hub:raum innovation unit. It was one of 18 solution partner finalists that participated in hub:raum’s LTE‑M Prototyping summit event in Austria during November 2018, initiated to accelerate the roll out of “5G‑ready” LTE‑for‑Machines solutions in various Group markets during 2019 (Deutsche Telekomwatch, #79).
