Peer‑to-peer networking startup HypeLabs closed a seed funding round at $2.7m (€2.4m), with Deutsche Telekom (DT) throwing its hat into the ring alongside other investors. In a statement following the round, HypeLabs Chief Executive Carlos Lei said it will focus on “growing internationally, as well as on one key market —the energy utility one”. The software provider is an alumnus of DT’s own WARP’15 and is currently in a working partnership with EricssonONE, the Swedish brand’s innovation incubator. Its software creates mesh networks to support internet‑free, software‑only communication, underpinned by readily available technology such as Bluetooth or Wi‑Fi.
