Peer‑to-peer networking startup HypeLabs closed a seed funding round at $2.7m (€2.4m), with Deutsche Telekom (DT) throwing its hat into the ring alongside other investors. In a statement following the round, HypeLabs Chief Executive Carlos Lei said it will focus on “growing internationally, as well as on one key market — the energy utility one”. The software provider is an alumnus of DT’s own WARP’15 and is currently in a working partnership with Ericsson ONE, the Swedish brand’s innovation incubator. Its software creates mesh networks to support internet‑free, software‑only communication, underpinned by readily available technology such as Bluetooth or Wi‑Fi.
