- Deutsche Telekom Capital Partners (DTCP), the investment management arm of DT, channelled more funds into US‑based NS1, a specialist in application traffic management and “next generation” domain name systems.
DTCP participated in a $33m (€29.7m) Series‑C venture round in NS1, led by Dell Technologies Capital. The extra funds are aimed at helping NS1 “accelerate penetration” into edge computing, service delivery, and Internet of Things (IoT). The wider NS1 goal is to build a “smarter internet”. According to the startup, the NS1 platform can “dramatically improve application performance, operational efficiency, and customer experience by intelligently and automatically routing traffic”.
DTCP has been an NS1 investor since September 2016 (Deutsche Telekomwatch, #57 and #66). Other backers include Cisco Investments, Salesforce Ventures, and Telstra Ventures.
