Direct Market Services (DMSL), a distributor of cloud and connectivity solutions to small‑ and medium‑size enterprises (SME) and Premier Partner of BT Business & Public Sector (BTwatch, #301 and passim), was swallowed by Toople, a FTSE‑listed communications provider that also focuses on SMEs in the UK. Toople completed the acquisition of DMS Holding, the holding company for DMSL, on 19 February 2020. DMSL commenced trading in 2002 and is now said to be responsible for more than 250,000 BT customers and in excess of 400,000 revenue generating units. Toople offers business broadband, cloud telephony, and mobile packages to SME users, and has previously signalled eagerness to tap into BT’s move to fibre for customer acquisition, including via a tie‑up with an unnamed reseller in 2018 (BTwatch, #299).
