Vodafone has appointed Erzsébet Fitori, formerly Director General of the FTTH Council Europe, to head up its office in Brussels.

Fitori joined Vodafone today (1 June 2020) as Group Head of European Affairs & Relations, handling a complex external affairs brief covering M&A, competition, spectrum licensing, sustainability, COVID‑19 responses, and Brexit.

The move sees Vodafone calling on her experience at FTTH Council Europe to maintain its Gigabit Society pitch in Brussels, and help Group leadership’s broader push for a reset of relations with regional and national regulators to help address ongoing headaches around return on investment in infrastructure.

Fitori announced she was leaving FTTH Council Europe in March 2020, having led the organisation since 2016. Before joining the Council, which promotes the interests of fibre-led service providers and vendors, she was Director at the European Competitive Telecommunications Association, and had a previous spell as Head of Regulatory Affairs at Telenor Hungary.
